Fund-raising is a wonderful opportunity to teach your students that martial artists help others. It is also an opportunity to obtain publicity for your school, and obtain many leads for enrolling new students into your school.
Contact a charity for your fund-raising event. Contact them and discuss your plans.
We suggest you choose a local charity that can really use the funds you raise and can help you promote the event.
Recruit a committee of parents and students to help you plan and organize your fund-raising event. Plan a martial arts demonstration, a kick-a-thon or use your imagination to come up with some type of unique and interesting event.
Have a poster announcing the event made up for each student to pass out and distribute to the local merchants to display.
Train students to ask for sponsors for a martial arts demonstration or a Kick-a-thon. Explain that in exchange for sponsoring the student, sponsors should be given free introductory lesson certificates to give to three people who would benefit from martial arts training. Plan for incentives to give each student. The more money they raise through their effort, the larger the prizes.
Since you will have many people visiting to watch the event, have flyers, school literature, business cards and class schedules available to pass out.
This is a perfect time to get to know new prospects and their families. If possible, schedule appointments for classes.
Remember to have a group assigned to help cleanup after the event is over
